Alex Jay
Alex Jay has one of the most energetic and recognisable voices in the country. After school Alex attended Wits Tech where he studied for a diploma in Theatre Technology and extended his studies at the SABC where he completed all the R.A.B audio technology modules offered. After graduating he went on to work professionally as radio DJ, TV presenter, actor and writer. Listeners fell in love with this crazy man first on 702, and then on 5FM, where he brought household entertainment to his millions of fans for over 15 years. Alex also presented TV shows Graffitti, Fast Forward, SaturJay Sundae, Looks 2 Live By and AM2Day. He currently presents the daily Afternoon Drive show on 94.7 Highveld Stereo and is the host of SABC3's game show The Hot Seat. And of course he's one of the voices we love to hear on Top Billing. Kevin Savage
Kevin Savage is a South African broadcasting legend with a wealth of experience that spans over 30 years. Starting his career in his hometown of London, and then moving on to Canada in the ’70s, Kevin arrived in SA in 1979. Since then he has been a constant voice on stations like Capital 604 and 702. He is perhaps best known for his slot on 5FM where he presented the lunchtime show for a decade. He established the popular Music Power Half Hour request show in that time, a feature which still exists, though in a different guise. In the late ’90s he served as Programme Director at KFM in Cape Town. In recent years he has worked exclusively as a voiceover artist, and now fills the airwaves of central South Africa from his new position at OFM. There is a great demand for his voice on radio and television and Top Billing is proud to say he’s one of ours. Phil Wright
Years ago, when Phil met a television cameraman filming documentaries around the country, he thought it was quite a cool job. So he made a call to the SABC. All they had to offer was a radio sound engineer's course, so he took it up. After the training, he worked on Radio RSA where he became hooked on radio, and the TV idea was put on hold. He started presenting on Capital Radio before making a name for himself on 5FM as a hard rock and metal DJ. He continues to play on The Rockfest 1485 AM, while being the professional voice behind many Top Billing inserts.
