As we take stock of heritage month, we set out to meet up with South African photography icon, Fanie Jason and his son Leeroy Jason who give us a glimpse into the inspiring eye of their cameras.
As a budding photographer during the dark and difficult years of apartheid, Fanie would soon receive international recognition.
Whether it is capturing striking images in the township or of high profile leaders and other famous faces, Fanie’s work as a photographer has seen him trot the globe.
With dad as his mentor, Leeroy has not only managed to create his own artistic vision, but has become an award-winning photographer in his own right.
Like father, like son - and with Fanie and Leeroy Jason it is clearly a father and son relationship built on the foundation of mutual respect, admiration and inspiration.
