A good financial adviser might suggest a sensible balance of risk in your investments. But if you’ve done well from all your hard work and feel your portfolio could be a little shall we say sexier, then this one is for you.
Unlike your average four-door, family sedan - the sports cars moving through these doors fetch even better prices, the more classic they get. It’s a dream business for mechanical engineer Bryan Webb and investment car specialist Gareth Crossley.
This venue streamlines the search for buyers, sellers and enthusiasts in a single venue. It had to run like a Swiss watch and be styled along an industrial, modern, classic theme – which is where architect and fellow petrol-head Ali Kemali came in.
Since Ali redesigned the building for Bryan and Gareth, it’s become a popular venue for filming commercials, holding fashion shows and of course, selling classic cars.
The auto theme extends to the bar of the coffee shop in tobacco coloured leather with red accent stitching. It’s a tribute to the interiors of Italian sportscars of the 1950s.
Leaving his engineering business in Joburg six years ago, was meant to be the start of Bryan’s retirement, but this passion project has become a full on enterprise.
Together, this team of industry specialists offer technical advice, historical research and thorough valuations. This allows buyers to make informed decisions when investing in a classic or sports car.
Being such valuable investments, these vehicles are not so different to works of art which need to be kept in, ideal conditions. There are also out-of-town owners who only visit the city on holiday and need their classic ride kept in shape while they’re away.
Although Aidan wasn’t buying, the perks of being a Top Billing presenter allowed him to live and drive the dream, for one, beautiful day at least.
