Top Billing attends the Ultimate Ears Winter Whip Snowboard and Ski Festival

When it’s summer in the ski capitals of Europe and America, The Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho becomes a winter sports playground! Held over four glorious days, the Ultimate Ears Winter Whip Snowboard and Ski Festival hosted over sixty local and international snowboarders and skiers in The Malutis.
Situated above three thousand metres altitude, making the most of seasonal snowfall, Afriski Mountain Resort offers a range of slopes and accommodation geared for a Lesotho Highlands winter. This incredible getaway spot offers the best in hospitality, and accommodation so cosy you’d be tempted to stay in your room all day.

With the tournament bringing in contenders from all over the world, top female snowboarder Mawa Jekot was on hand to wave the SA flag, while returning star and now judge Katlego Maponyane returned this year as a judge.

In his first start since a recent knee injury was a star of the Pro Men’s competition, Anthon Bosch. The Swedish pro, who has South African roots, brought a few people to tears when he handed his winner’s cheque to junior rider, and twice runner up, Sekhola Ramonotsi, whom Anton called an inspiration.

Catch this heart-warming moment and all the tournament action on Top Billing this Saturday at 6PM!
