Billing features the wedding of Sevens star Stephan Dippenaar

Before farm boy Stephan Dippenaar was a Sevens star, former model and farm girl Louise Muller knew they’d be wed and said it the day that they met.

While Stephan has made his name in Sevens tournaments from Hong Kong to Las Vegas, both he and Louise grew up on farms. So, it was in Riebeeck West the place they knew so well, that they chose to be wed.

For her dress, Louise turned to a friend of the family, designer Kobus Dippenaar. When she asked for something timeless, to suit her petite frame, he delivered.

With everyone playing their part, Stephan sourced the wine, his bride chose the décor experimenting with pinks, oranges and purples which made it feel like spring.

With the wedding being held at Riebeeck West’s Dutch Reformed Church, the groom wasn’t as nervous as when he first asked permission from Louise’s father to take her out on a date. All Mr. Muller had told him was to keep to the speed limit with his daughter and Stephan followed orders.

The bouquet ritual went off smoothly but Stephan’s team-mates had other ideas about the garter throwing. They wanted to be sure he knew the difference between the legs of a swimwear model and those of a rugby player. They were relieved to find that he did.

The joke however was on his fellow Blitzboks because while they carry on tackling rugby players, he has decided to retire to the country with his beautiful wife.

Having seen London, Dubai, Wellington and Singapore with his Sevens squad, Stephan is now off to explore Bali and Zanzibar, without the guys but with the love of his life.
