Finishing school with six distinctions, Bonolo headed for fashion design school but ill health saw her only complete one term. Undeterred, by the age of 19 she started a fashion line, AfriBlossom. With that established, she began another career – writing romance novels featuring big, beautiful women.
Siphiwe Sithole has been there from day one, seen her daughter’s idea grow into a successful online retail operation and been a rock of practical support.
As driven as Bonolo, is another friend and collaborator, Phathi Katurah Hlongwane. She earned her Masters in architecture then turned her hand to jewellery design.
Behind camera on fashion shoots, the live wire who founded this business will often go on camera to sell her brand on social media and to spread her message.
