What used to be a rundown factory in Salt River, Cape Town is today the city’s first artisanal distillery. Before we met the unconventional distillers behind it, we asked mixologist Brent Perremore about the background to this revolution in gin.
This venture is the brainchild of Lucy Beard and Leigh Lisk who’d had enough of being lawyers and wanted a challenge.
On holiday in Spain they discovered the Spanish passion for gin, downloaded a book on distilling and that led to their very own distillery.
