Top Billing celebrates the birthday of a very special young girl
Baked bean cans, mattress foam, old car tyres and freight palettes are the stuff good times are made of.
Everyone wants their little one to have the best birthday ever and parties can be expensive and overwhelming BUT they don't have to be. Our JHB based director of photography, Mfundo Khumalo, recently celebrated his daughter’s second birthday and his craft-clever wife Amanda put Jonathan to work in helping to create a DIY, environmentally-friendly bash to remember.
The theme was gold, pink and a touch of mint green that blended candy colours with a suggestion of bling. Having ensured the edges of all the cans were smooth, they made excellent, no nonsense, shiny vases for the very patriotic protea flowers.
Amanda’s used to dealing with children – of all ages. When she went to the U.S. to explore possibilities, she aupaired for a young, American family over two years. Today she has her own.
Simple things fascinate young minds, especially if the results show quickly and there’s lots of praise for a job well done. Along with a ready supply of sweet and savoury flavours.
