In the left hand corner, weighing in at #NoneOfYourBusiness it’s Jade Hubner taking on actress Nicole Bessick in a fight to put an end to bullying.
Jade did mixed martial arts at school and started regularly training in the gym two years ago. It was initially for fitness but word soon got back to sports charity the JAG Foundation.
When Jade and Nicole heard about the boxing match for charity they both jumped on board, being firm believers that there is no place for bullying in the world.
Getting Jade fighting fit was former premier league footballer Ryan Botha and boxing coach and current Western Cape Champion, Wade Hammond.
Her opponent, Nicole Bessick’s made her name playing characters in films like Cold Harbour but this bout was real and personal. It helped having a trainer like former boxer, Bruce Benjamin, who has been the man behind every celebrity win.
The match bell rung and round one of three had begun before they knew it and was over just as quick.
Jade was glad she’d learned to take a punch as they were coming thick and fast. She gave just as many in return. By round three, legs were tiring and in the end it came down to technical points. A decision as to who landed more punches. The winner heard they had won by just one point!!!
