Chris Bertish sets the record straight
From winning the legendary Mavericks Big Wave contest to stand up paddle boarding the Atlantic, Chris Bertish writes his name across the oceans!
This year, Chris Bertish set a Guinness World Record for stand up paddle boarding from the coast of Morocco to Antigua in the Caribbean. It’s the latest in a series of firsts by this pioneering sportsman.
Working from home, it took Chris five years to put the event into action and to oversee the building of a board with its own water desalinator, solar panels and autopilot. Stand up paddle boarding originated in Africa so it was fitting that one of our own achieved this amazing feat.
Along with this amazing achievement Chris was also the first to run, cycle and paddle from the source of the River Thames to the sea and set a new record for paddling The English Channel.
His next big venture is to bring ten ocean sports together in a conservation challenge hoping to reach 300 million children.
