Antonio Banderas shares the story of his new fragrance
You might have seen his irresistible good looks, all guns and swords ablaze on the big screen - but much loved actor Antonio Banderas has a softer side.
Named after young Aids activist Nkosi Johnson, the Nkosi’s Haven charity has offered care and support for mothers and children affected by HIV/Aids since 1999.
With a passion to share and inspire, Antonio’s travelling exhibition titled ‘Women in Gold’, not only reflects his admiration and respect for women, but a keen artistic eye.
Acting mainly in Spanish films early on in his career, Antonio’s big break came when he starred alongside Tom Hanks in the acclaimed Aids related film - Philadelphia.
Next up on Antonio’s busy four day visit, was a fundraiser dinner where some of his photographic art works would be auctioned off to a host of celebrity and corporate guests - who were eager to open their wallets and help raise funds and support the cause Johannesburg did - with a spirit of fun and generosity.
As guest of honor and the driving force behind the fundraiser, it was time for the man of the moment to express his gratitude.
A few inspiring art works created by children from Nkosi’s Haven were also on auction - and true to his style, Antonio did not hesitate to open his own wallet.
With an impressive 1.2 million rand raised – Antonio showed us how to combine business and charity for a good cause.
