A 19th century home with a feng shui finish
A grand old nineteenth century dame of a home is reimagined in feng shui style and you are invited for the grand tour!
Anina’s career is driven by campaigns and deadlines and her husband teaches people to achieve calm and centre themselves. The couple’s city pad is where those opposites meet and find balance.
What their home’s fine finishes don’t tell you is that a home which has stood for a century and a half comes with hidden costs and before the peaceful greenery that they now have came much banging and crashing.
Anina’s Fine Art background suggested a strong picture of how each room could look and interior designer Anneline Botes helped her achieve it.
High ceilings allow glass and metal to be introduced in light fittings while black is used to elegantly frame spaces. The one set of original French doors in the house was replicated throughout.
When working all hours of the day and night it is important to have a place that will ground you and centre you to keep that balance.
