Top Billing features Olympian and filmmaker Calvyn Justus
Olympic swimmer and filmmaker, Calvyn Justus, is making waves in the media
Join us on Top Billing this week as Jonathan Boynton-Lee spends one-on-one time with the elite athlete.
It’s his swimming strengths that saw Durban’s Calvyn Justus compete in the men's 4 × 200 metre freestyle relay in Rio but it’s his vlogs making the news. Calvyn’s vlogs go beneath the surface of what most of the public know or understand about top-flight swimming.
Putting his audience at the heart of his experience is what earned Calvyn his Shorty Award nomination. They were the first awards to honour social media influencers in a range of fields from sport to television, fashion to activism and they engage an online audience of millions.
Calvyn’s Youtube channel includes themes from his swimming and travel to his Passion Projects. To understand the importance of his work being recognized by The Shorty Awards, you need only look at the calibre of his fellow five nominees who include - Olympic legend Michael Phelps, U.S. golf star Rickie Fowler and English Premier League winning striker Jamie Vardy. Calvyn is swimming with the big boys.
The Shorty Awards will be streamed live, on-line from New York on April 23rd. So, let’s back our guy to bring one home!
